Computer Contract

Grades K – 2

I _____________________________________ will follow the rules below for computer use at school.  If I break these rules, I understand there will be consequences set by my teacher or the administration.  These may include the loss of the privilege of using computers at school.  This contract follows the guideline set in the LAC Board of Education Policy 6142.10.

1. I understand that the computer is for school-related assignments only.
2. I will not give out my school username or password to anyone other than my teacher and my parents. These are private.
3. I will not bring software or files from home. Sharing viruses is not fun.
4. I will follow my teacher’s directions and use the computer correctly.
5. I understand that I must have the teacher’s permission to print in color.
6. If I see anything on a computer that makes me uncomfortable, I will tell the teacher.

Computer/Internet Use Contract

Grades 3 - 8

I _____________________________________ will follow the rules below for online safety and computer use at school.  If I break these rules, I understand that I will endure consequences deemed appropriate by my teacher and the administration.  This may include the loss of the privilege of using computers or the Internet at school.  This contract follows the guideline set in the LAC Board of Education Policy 6142.10.

 Procedures for Use:

1. I understand that the computer is for school-related assignments only.
2. I will not bring software or files from home unless it is school-related work.
3. I will follow my teacher’s directions and use the computer correctly.
4. I understand that I must have the teacher’s permission to print in color.
5. I will not install software, shareware, or freeware on school computers.
6. I will not access or display inappropriate or offensive material on school computers.  This includes computer desktops and screensavers. 
7. I understand that students in grades 3 to 6 may choose a color for their background with teacher permission and that students in grade 7 & 8 may choose either a color or default Windows background.  No other pictures may be used.
8. I promise to stay out of websites not approved by the teacher. 
9. I will not access email, instant message, chat rooms, online music or games, or personal websites at school.
10. I understand that I must have teacher permission to access music or videos on the Internet and that these are restricted to school assignments only.
11. I understand that vandalism will not be tolerated.

1. I will not transmit or post any material in violation of local, state, or federal law including copyrighted materials and other inappropriate materials.

1. I will not use the computer to harm other people or their work.
2. I will not engage in “cyber-bullying” in any form as per the LAC Board of Education Policy 5139.

1. I will not give out my school username or password to anyone other than my teacher and my parents. These are private.
2.  I will use my school username and password to access only items on the network that I have permission to view.
3. I will not give out any personal information over the Internet such as my name, address, or phone number.
4. I understand that the school district will make every effort to block inappropriate sites, however at times something may slip through.  If I see anything on a computer or Internet that makes me uncomfortable, I will tell the teacher.
